Dog usually don't have strokes like people.. In dogs it's called vestibular disease. First a veterinarian has to check to see if it's an inner ear infection or what. If it's an ear infection- it's usually easily treated. It's possible it could be a tumor or ??? Most of the time it's is treated with medication to help the nausea and antiinflammatories. It can take 4-6 weeks or longer to resolve if it's and ear infections or ??? Tumor - never. people strokes are caused by clots getting caught in the brain - not so in dogs. Hope this has helped. Look up in the websites under vestibular disease- you'll find more info.

You could try vetinfo.com. I don't know of other sites offhand, but I DO know that strokes are different in dogs than in people. Whereas a person might be debilitated, a dog can have the same effect and then snap right out of it. They seem to be more transient in animals, thankfully.
