I've got a lot of liquor in my freezer (tequila, tripple sec, rum, vodka, whiskey, etc...) and I was wondering if it was probably a bad idea to put it in there in the first place. Does storing liquor in the freezer cause the alcohol to not be as good? And if I were to take all of the liquor out of my freezer, would it cause any problems?

I store vodka in the freezer so I won't need to use as much ice when mixing. Everything else I have is scotch or bourbon that I drink at room temperature. When freezing a bottle of anything, make sure it's just a simple screw-on cap and not a stopper made of cork, because excessive temperature changes can cause the cork to swell and shrink, and ultimately fail.

Yes, it generally won't freeze since it has to be colder than water. However, don't store a full glass bottle. Take some off the top, just to guard against cracking the bottle. I once had a mixer explode on me.

If you take the liquor out and allow it to get warm again, it might potentially change the taste. Best to at least keep it in the fridge.

Storing liquor in your freezer only makes it colder, which is usually a good thing. However, don't put wine or champagne in your freezer, there's not enough alcohol to stop it from freezing and ends up with broken bottles.

Best stored in the freezer- Most often a sipping drink- Good in 'holiday' drinks- Chocolate cake was a great suggestion- Also great on ice cream- But the best use... Does your lady friend enjoy the flavor? If she doesn't like the drink just ask her to rinse her mouth with it... You'll have to imagine the rest.... Just ask her to breath deeply. Rock hard for hours... ::: looks around ::: from what I'm told. Was I vague enough to make it through the censors? I'm new to the q & a...

Cold storage of liquor will not affect it s taste or viscosity. Of course, when it s cold it becomes somewhat syrupy and shots go down easier and probably getting you drunk quicker. However, (in freezer storage) I suspect that since the liquor (35% or more alcohol by volume) never really freezes (or stabilizes by becoming frozen), your freezer may work overtime cooling and possibly causing issues with it s ability to eventually self de-frost.

My fav cordial of all time. Perfect taste and perfect strength. As a shot or as an ingredient. Packs a refreshing punch and isn't so terribly expensive. You can sip it as a slow dance or take it hard as a boxing match as a full shot. I love it either way. For me it's a sunset, for others it could be a tornado. All I have to say if your day begins with "I was given a bottle of Rumple Minze", then, how can you frown lol?

All I know is my mother in law keeps her's in the freezer. I wouldn't think it could hurt anything or make it go bad.
It doesn't freeze anyways. Just keeps it cold.
