iwant to dye the carpet in my home instead of buying new carpet which would cost more than i can afford right now

Some carpet cleaners can dye carpet. With carpet made after Sept 1989 ( when stainmaster was 1 st made) it is very difficult to dye evenly and color fast. Be sure the carpet dyer has a guarantee for color fading. It may be impossible to get a good job. If your old carpet has a good stain resistance scotchguard or stainmaster, this treatment will prevent the dye from getting into the yarn. Good luck.
