No I dont think so. Africans introduced many types of rhytms during these centuries. Later on during the Harlem renaissance, african amerianc introduced jazz and the blues.Not to mention the influence of Motown and great music performers such as Ray Charles, Rick James, James Brown, and others.

No. It was the African American presence in music from 1900-1950 that -really- changed American music. Billie Holiday... jazz... all of which became modern music.

No, one cannot deny the influence of any type of music on current music. Artists tend to hear and be influenced by any number of sources during any period.
