I was on Prozac for awhile. The best thing you can do is call the pharmacy and ask them( it's been awhile so I don't remember what they were). But as with ANY meds you take if you have a symptom and it lasts for more than a week, call your Dr. or even if you are worried about symptoms call your Dr. It could be a sing of 3 things : 1- dosage is to high 2: dosage is to low or 3- the med isn't right for you and your Dr. needs to prescibe something else. Now having said that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU EVER ABRUPTLY STOP TAKING THE MEDS BEFORE CONTACTING YOUR DR.

It seems to affect different people a bit differently, but I have been on the max dose for several years, and it has helped me. I was having chronic major depression, and it helped me get rid of the disordered thinking/racing thoughts, to calm and quiet my mind and sleep. I still sleep much better than before. I have never had negative sexual side effects at all from Prozac. It does cause extreme dry mouth and, unfortunately, I am on a couple of other psych meds which cause the same thing.

Headache, mood swings (especially if the dosage isn't right), dry mouth, metalic taste in the mouth, insominia, constipation alternating with diareah, intestinal cramping...etc

But if it made you behave badly, then it's not right for you. Tell your doctor your reactions and see if he can suggest something else or change your dosage.
