Yes. Just be careful if there is salt aor acidity iin the rub. If there is lemon or lime juice in it it will "cook" the chicken and make the texture rubbery. If there is a lot of salt you will see all the juice from your big juicy chicken in the bottom of the pan and no longer in the bird where it is best enjoyed. the salt will draw out the moisture in the chicken if there is too much.

Please make sure you wash that chicken before putting in the sauce as there is a danger to your health, otherwise I would figure out how long the chicken is to be left until cooked. If you leave it in overnight and then don't plan to cook until the next evening I would be more inclined to start the soak in the morning.

Chicken must be refrigerated. And remember, a high sodium content in the rub raises the chances of it getting dryer when cooked.

Yes, if its a dry rub, it'll be fine.
If its liquid and has a lot of acidy stuff in it, it will start to cook the chicken and dry it out.
