I was driving through Amish land today when, out of the goodness of my heart, I honked and waved at ol' Jedediah coming at me in the opposite direction in his suped-up horse and buggy. (I think it had spinners on it). Then the whole family gives me the finger!! Even the 100+ year old matriarch flipped me off.

Isn't that against what the Amish stand for, besides well built furniture?

You would think that the Amish would be very polite, but they are human after all. Did ya take a picture??? That would be a great souvenir.

You want the meaning of this parable?

When in Amish country, don't honk (it will scare the horses).

Wouldn't honking scare the horses?

They probably thought you were making fun of them or something.

They're pricks now, because apparently we're so terrible for wanting our society to evolve over the course of 300 years.
