I love the USA (and Canada), but you're starting with a premise that not everyone shares, ya know. For instance, people in Japan are pretty darned fond of Japan.
[ADDED] Hey, Dana-D (below) - good job with the jingoism. Scroll down further and read the answer from TheBoz - it rocks. Just because you love the USA, as I do, doesn't mean you have to put your head in the sand, or up your tail. Glad you're happy, but there's always a way to make things even better in this great land.

It depends on what you go by. However, unless you are ultra-rich, the U.S. is not the best place to live.
We rank 13th in overall quality of life.
We rank 8th in the human development index.
We rank 27th in having the least amount of the population in poverty.
We rank 37th in the world for our healthcare system (behind some 3rd world countries) despite the fact that we pay the most for our healthcare.
We rank 27th of 28 countries in life expectancy.
We are 36h in infant mortality.
We are 12th of 18 countries when it comes to fundamental reading skills with over 20% of our people being illiterate.
We are 51st in environmental sustainability.
We are the 17th least corrupt nation in the world.
Essentially, the only things I know of that we are number one is that we have the most people imprisoned of any industrialized nation, we have the most violent crime of any first world nation, and we have more heart disease than anyone else.
Also every one of the statistics I quoted are getting worse. So, what is so good about the U.S. when the statistics show we're mediocre at best?
It is impossible to truly answer your question though, because it is impossible to know what circumstances you would consider the best. I've provided a bunch of links to the statistics I've quoted above so you can browse through them and figure out what countries are best for you.

Heck, I hate the British and the Aussies. would not opt to stay there besides- the cooking in the former sucks and the terrain in the latter is ninety% wasteland. My uncle has a farm in Costa Rica, that is fairly impressive. i'd be smooth residing there, doing oddjobs for him.

Pick any industrialized nation; even Mexico.
Unless you are in the top 1 percent income wise, you'll do better in a foreign nation.
The US media pulls the wool over our eyes. They don't want to lose subscribers.
