whay dont people believe in GOD?

Simple. It's more than just not believing in a god. It's living my life without a god or religion telling me how to do it. I believe I can live a succesful and happy life without thinking some god is going to help me. I also think that religion spreads hate, fear and oppression.

Some people unfortunatly, don't like God because they think that God is out to get them and that's why they're not suceeding or that's why they're so misfortunate or one thing or another in life. Others aren't sure if God is really the answer. I mean Scientists have already proved how the Earth was made, something about a dust mass moved and formed the Earth, and that's a fact. So maybe we're believing the wrong thing. No one really knows, because theres nothing to give us any clues.
For all we know some random person could've made up the bible. It is hard to believe but, we really DON'T KNOW FOR SURE if they're is a God. Science has shown how simple bacterias have grown into Animals that we have today. So what if they're really isn't a God? It's all a mystery. Until someone proves it though, I am on the *shaky* side of believing in God, and that's honest.

Maybe I'm wrong, but the majority believe in God, or some form of God and / or a higher-being. It is human to question and to reason, and also be frustrated with no response that seems valid enough to sustain our faith, but the search still exists.
Life's trials and pains often cause a man to lose faith and hope, but in the end, we are all looking for God. Whoever, or whatever that is.

Because so many people have had God shoved down their throats by self-serving preachers and believers that have perverted his teachings to fit their own agendas. This world was not created by chance. There is definately intelligent design. The problem comes when greedy people try to make a buck by distorting His name and teaching fear and HELL. God is LOVE.

Because I think that our scientific knowledge has developped itself enough to explain what religion tried to clarify in the days science was underdevelopped.

Because people are free to believe or disbelieve anything they like. It's their choice. They don't have to believe in God just because someone else tells them they should.

Since they would rather walk their own path, and walk in their own ways. Always from God. For no man will find God through by his/her own(1). No way, no how. God must lead them and show them that path...and few will except it, since humans like their own sinfulness so much and would rather dwell in it and go their own way(2).

Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

So they will not seek Him, for what lamb where come to his/her own Shepherd. Instead the Shepherd must come to them and lift them up, and take that lost lamb back(3). Humans are like sheep and thus search not after God. But God will come after them.

i think its more like they dont need to. most people seem to believe in God because they need someone to credit for all the things they cant explain and they it is God's doings. so people who dont, dont seem to need a person to credit.

I think it is because they try to use logic to explain and prove God exists and when they can't, (they also can't prove God doesn't exist either) so in the absence of any proof or logic, they simply choose not to believe and often ridicule those who do because they don't understand "faith".
