The Sonic Cruiser was a concept for a plane that would fly at just below the speed of sound (0.95 Mach). While there was initially a lot of interest, as Boeing further explored the concept with airlines, they came to the conclusion that the airlines preferred fuel efficiency over a faster aircraft. So they decided to shelve the sonic cruiser concept and instead focused on the new 787, a plane designed with composites and new engines to be as fuel efficient as possible.

After the 787, Boeing is focusing on the new 747-8 (a stretch version to partially compete with the new airbus A380). Speculation is then that Boeing would then focus on a next generation composite plane to replace their best selling 737.
So, in short, the Sonic Cruiser likely will never be built. Or if it is, it will be many years from now and will likely be very different.
