Could you describe this further? I would like to know the correlation of Jesus' teachings to Eastern philosophies. Which one's? I have studied a few and know the similarities, but there are differences as well.
Taoism does not accept the principle of evil. There is merely yin and yang. The opposite of Christ's teachings.
Buddhism teaches suffering is a part of life and can be overcome with enlightenment. Once again, opposite of Christ's way. Jesus said suffering is a part of life to be embraced and not overcome. Christ demonstrated that through suffering comes redemption, thus suffering is a joy.
Shintoism places a large amount of trust in ancestors. Jesus says that if following Him means your family disowns you then so be it. Love of God is greater than love of family, although the two ideally could be united.
Confuscius say... (just kidding). Confuscius taught that transcendence is reached through ceremony. Jesus said woe to the pharisees who were a facade of ceremony and rules. He placed emphasis on the heart.
The reason many of those years are not described is because the early years are to describe His descent to earth and take on human flesh. Then He did not start His ministry until the latter years. He questioned His mother if it was time to begin when she asked Him to help out the newlyweds with some more wine for the celebration.
Ultimately, the most important things to know about Jesus is that He is God that was born with human flesh. And that He suffered, died, and was buried. Then on the third day rose, again, in fulfillment of the scriptures to take away the sins of the world.

I honestly do not know, but if we needed to know, I'm sure God would reveal that Truth to Us. It has always been my understanding that He worked with his Foster Father Joseph as a carpenter in Nazareth, but anything is possible so yes, it is a complete and total mystery. Good Question and very thought provoking as well.

Your partly right, but we know at 12 he was temporarily lost from his traveling family when he stayed behind to study with the Synagogue elders. When old enough he worked with Joseph as a carpenter for a few years. And finally when Joseph changed trades, Jesus traveled with him until he began his ministry.
Since no further mention is made of Joseph it is assumed he died. His ministry lasted 3.5 years

At age 12 he was in Jerusalem: Lk 2:42, but little is mentioned after that till he got baptized and spent forty days in the wilderness fasting and being tempted by devilish law prior to John the Baptist going to prison. Then he returned to Galilee and moved to Capernaum. And then he was about age 30: Lk 3. But by then he also had disciples and was preaching to multitudes. So there's less than18 years of non info about him, which is actually a mute point, since it's "allegory" in both "covenants": Gal 4.
So let us not dwell too much on "Jesus", but rather on the "Christ" part of "Jesus Christ" since peace with God and eternal salvation are "through Jesus->Christ". For "Jesus" notably brought "division" and not peace: Mt 10:34; lK 12:51; Whereas "Christ" is our "peace", not division: Jn 14:27; Eph 2:15. Not to mention we are to mark and avoid them who cause "division": Rom 16:17.
"Jesus": was born under the law, and of woman
(ye are not under the law, but under grace)
"Christ": is the end of the law, and transgression thereof
(he is our peace, who hath abolished the law)
To wit: that God was in "Christ" reconciling the world: 2Cor 5, and notably by not law imputing any (trespasses)sin unto them.
Hence we are called the body of Christ (not of Jesus).
The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

There is a lot of speculation as to exactly where Jesus what during these years.
My opinion was he was in Joseph's carpentry shop learning the trade of his father, like any typical Jewish boy of that time.

The bible tells you pretty much everything about him,it doesn't say everything he did day by day but it does tell what he did over the years.preaching the word of his father.the point is he did come and did what he was supposed to do and people treated him like crap, till this day they still do.instead of thanking him for what he did people are ungrateful.if it wasn't for him we wouldn't be here.
