For everyone who answered something about the liver, that is jaundice. Elevated bilirubin, liver disease, too much alcohol, hepatitis, cirrhosis, gallbladder trouble, you name it....that is all jaundice. I believe the question was "What, besides jaundice, can cause yellowing of the skin and eyes?" And I, unfortunately, don't have an answer for that question, other than serious chain smoking tends to yellow the skin after awhile. But that is not an acute problem.

Take the RN's advice. If you're a drinker, it's gonna add up and affect your liver and it'll show.

it could be Hep C, alcoholism, billie rubens, it could be many different things and basically none of these are good news. Please go to the doctor and get blood work done as soon as possible, its a very dangerous and deadly disease.
