Well, it all depends on how you look at it, doesn't it? People have a lot of mental reserves that are rarely even touched.

What you have to do is "think" along the lines of what "korngodess1027" poses BEFORE you ask these questions that actually insult religious thinkers. A "God" that's into selective "miracles" - let's these die but saves those - is a figment of the imagination of religious primitives.
Can you not see what YOU are saying? Aren't YOU making Him out to be some whimsical figure. Why DIDN'T you include the gazillions who die ghastly deaths AFTER praying to Him?
Alluding to His "mysterious" nature will not help your case because you mock it by pretending you somehow understand His plan - which is that God comes to the aid of those who pray.
You would do your beliefs a service if you assumed you have no idea why He does what He does, end of story. Or at least consult with a theologian or two about the issue of "intercessory prayer."

For all those who survived there were 1000's of doctors who were obviously wrong. The human body does some amazing things and it has some amazing survival skills. Everyone's body is differeny and doctors and scientists don't know about all we can do.
Saying that some god healed them takes away from the wonders of science and the hard work they went through to find a cure.
The human body is an amazing machine and it's honestly surprising to me that we all don't have terminal diseases with all the germs and threaths out there.

I had Christian friend who told me that all I had to do was pray and I would be healed. I gave it try but It didn't work I'm still ill. All I can think is its luck and they had a strong faith they would get better. I heard some where praying helps coz u r saying how u feel and letting ur emotions out even if what ur praying to isn't really there and u feel better afterwards. I dunno if God is there or not but he never answered my prays. Why does God choose to Heal some people and not others? Does God only heal the ones that believe in him?

science actually almost did explain it.
many form of cancer are actually healed by personal faith, strength, name it however you wanna name it. there are indeed thousands and thousands of healed cancer-patients, just by believing they could heal. some by prayer, some by believing in personal thought and will-power.
the cure for cancer is still not around, but all these cases make a tribute to cancer-research.
I also have known lots of people who didn't recover from cancer. You're saying now that they had the wrong faith? the wrong religion? God didn't like them? Any idea how stupid and hurtfull this question is for people who lost their loved ones to cancer ?

God can heal and God does heal. God does miracles but sometimes the answer is no. Are we all going to die, Yes. When is your appointment with death? I do not know. If there is no God, then I have not hurt myself for believing in one but what if there is a God and one does not believe or even worse, refused to believe,,,would be a bad thing to fall into the hands of an angry God.

There's a lot that people don't know about the immune system and diseases. Before microbes were discovered to be the cause of most disease and human biology was studied in depth, one might think that it was a miracle that someone got better after getting the flu. The atheist's core belief about unexplainable phenomena is; just because we can't explain it with the knowledge we have now, it doesn't mean it can't be explained.

He was given a 35% chance to live. That's not zero. And what about all the others who ask for God to heal them?

Check this out:
http://whydoesgodhateamputees.com/
Here is a similar situation. Millions of people afflicted. Most of them pray daily to be delivered from their loss of limbs. Yet, there has never, ever been a case where an amputee's limbs have grown back.
Why does your god discriminate against amputees when he is so willing to cure cancer?

OK person who believes in God. What is your answer for 2000 people that prayed to god to save them but died anyways when the building they were in fell? Well......... What god only saves selectively????? What makes those cancer victims any better then my grandfather, who died of cancer, and was a life long god-fearing catholic? And yea he prayed. But I guess your god wasn't listening to him.
