Have all of your students read the assignments aloud in class. Give them a voice. If they start talking when others are reading, ask every person in the room what respect is and listen to their answers. Every time another student interrupts, stop and have the person who interrupted if it respectful to talk while thier peers are reading aloud. Only 50% of the students learn from a teacher while the other s will listen to their peers. Give them a chance to teach each other and they will respond.
