I don't believe so, either. I have heard that many of the stories read in the bible have come from other cultures. For instance, there were other stories heard of a flood, and these other cultures thought they had someone special to have survived it.
I think this means that there may have been a flood, but not the great one the bible speaks of.

People don't believe Adam and Eve were real because they don't believe that the Bible is the infallible word of God so they believe what they want to.

I must say, I agree with you.

I find the story of Adam and Eve enlightening. Knowledge does lead to many new pleasures and horrors. However, I don't beleive the story literally.

Because you believe we could not have come from just two people and only two people.
That, to you, would mean that when they had kids, there had to be a lot of incesting going on in order to repopulate or, as in the Bible, "Be fruitful and multiply" and you just do not believe in that!
To you, that is impossible!

It's all religious belief. It doesn't have to be proven, just believed. If you want to believe what is preached in your church, fine. If you don't that's fine too. No one can say why some people believe this or that, they just do. If they're not harming anyone by what they believe in, what's it to you ?
