Not all aliens are illegal. People who follow the rules for entering the country are legal. They do this by getting visas, becoming citizens, etc. It is the people who do not have permission to come to this country that are called illegals. They therefore are not following the law and do not pay taxes, but still benefit from the many things our country has to offer. Basically you are welcome to come to this country, but you just have to do your paperwork.

I don't like 'illegal aliens' either, I think it's a bastardization of language. You're either an american citizen, or you're not. Pick a country. A lot of people would like to become american citizens, because they think they get an automatic free ride. Boy, do they have a surprise coming! LOLOL Of course, much thanks goes to a lot of our own POLITICIANS who've worked so hard to promote that mis-perception...not saying that our representatives LIE, that'd be dishonest, or that they take PAYOLA, or that they're OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE AMERICAN VOTERS(again), but suffice it to say we're not dealing with the immigration issue with a full 100% degree of intellectual honesty. That's partly why, over the years, there's been a declining trend in voting, because people generally get the view, over time, that it really doesn't do a lot of good. It's kind of like 'dont vote, it only encourages them'. And, there is a 'them', an elite, if you will, and to 'them' an 'illegal alien' comes in somewhere between an old newspaper and dog-crap stuck to your shoe. What people should do is work in their own countries to achieve the successes that america has achieved instead of trying to ingratiate themselves to a bunch of people that basically don't care, and would just as soon that Sen. Fatbody, globalization, and people that don't speak english all went away, preferably sooner rather than later. America is what it is, if people want to work and live in america, that's fine too, there's a legal way to do it, and enforcement should be hard-at-work to deal with violators.

The term 'alien' is a legal term which referred to people with foreign citizenship before it ever was associated with little green men. They are illegal because they are stealing subsidized benefits such as education in overcrowded and underfunded schools, impairing the education for children legally here. They do not have permission or entitlement to the subsidies they are taking. That is theft.
If I broke a law, I would certainly expect to pay the price if caught.
blacck77 - if you really know anything about Che Guevara, you know that he adamantly opposed illegal immigration because it undermined a fair wage for workers.

In my dictionary an alien is described this way:
1. a foreigner 2. a foreign born resident who is not naturalized 3. a hypothetical being from outer space.
We know they're not from outer space, therefore aliens must be foreigners who are not naturalized citizens of the U.S. And since they broke our laws to get into the U.S., they committed an ILLEGAL act. So that makes them ILLEGAL ALIENS -- the perfect term for them. Stop feeling sorry for them. Would you feel sorry for someone who broke into your house and stole all your stuff? Would you say the thief is just trying to make a better life for himself? Heck no. You'd have him arrested.

It's a question of legality. You have to have a passport to go into other countries. There are rules. "Illegal" pretty much means you broke the law -- being in this country without documentation is against OUR laws. They are "aliens" because they are not natural residents of our country, and "illegal" because the did not enter legally without the proper documentation. Why is this hard?????

Alien just means not from the country the are living in.
If one wants to immigrate to a country, one MUST follow their laws. Did you know that Mexico deports more people than the United States does, despite the fact that Mexico gets far, far, few visitors or immigrants? I wonder why.........

They are 'Alien' because is means "not native". It doesn't only apply to green guys with antenna.
They are illegal because they entered your country 'illegally' (not through proper channels)
The laws are the problem, not the terminology
