Especially when you look at the old testimant or torah and how much it indicates everything that Jesus did during his life and how the profits proclaimed these specific events such as being born in Bethlehem in a manger, Abraham telling his son who he was about to sacrafice that God was going to provide one for Himself, being from the line of David and how Isaiah said that it's by the messiah's stripes that we are healed. It to me , a gentile, seems obvious so I'm curious if someone can explain why Jesus, attributed as the spotless sacrificial lamb has been rejected as the Messiah from the orthodox Jews. Secondly according to God's law, sacrafice is necessary for the atonement of sin, how has the Jewish nation atoned for their sin since the destruction of the temple?

Hi,
As a Jewish believer in Jesus, let me give you my perspective. In a nutshell, most Jews aren't willing to consider Jesus to be the Messiah because (1) there has unfortunately been a lot of anti-Semitism carried out under the banner of the Church - one of the biggest reasons - (2) many Jewish people consider putting faith in Jesus to make them traitors to the Jewish people - going over to "them" instead of "us" - this is true regardless of whether someone is Orthodox or secular. We're raised to think that if we become Christians / Messianic Jews / whatever term you like, we've stopped being Jewish. Not true, but that's the sentiment in most of the Jewish community.

About atoning for sin - well, most Jews today are no longer traditional and sin plays about as big a role as it does for anyone else in modern society - very little. For those who recognize that they do need to atone for sin, in Judaism sacrifice has been replaced by repentance, charity, and fasting.

Have you ever checked out www.jewsforjesus.org, you can find a lot of material there to help you understand.

Oh and by the way, about the prophets and the Messiah - the majority of Jewish people today would not consider it to be "God's Word". The Orthodox (10%-20% of Jewish people) believe God gave an "Oral Law" alongside the Written Law and therefore the Bible (Written Law) needs to be interpreted in accordance with the rabbis (Oral Law).

Hope this helps,
Rich

1st Jews need a temple to sacrifice so they can't have any sacrifice at this time. 2ndly The Jews was and had to be blinded that Messiah had come. So that the prophecy may be fulfilled that was written in Isa. Many believe and many die cause of prosecution. Many of the Hebrews follow the apostles there is a book called Hebrews showing that many was servant of the Messiah. Also the message that the Messiah gave surely is not the same today. He didn't come to make the world pagans. So why Jews would become pagan, with all the thing that are consider as defilement they do.In Isa 42: it say that he was to be a light to the Gentle to make those who don't see see. See what the law the way of Yahweh. In Isa.53:3 say that it was as if he was concealed from them, not all.You may believe that the laws are done away with, you can look at Isa it talk of the future Isa. 65 show who is defiled those who eat pork and call themselves holy.In Isa.66:The Sabbath will be kept with the new moons. In Mt.28:11-14 it say that they were lie to about the resurrection, but one day they will see the truth when he decide to give them this insight.

Jesus told Nicodemus that no one could "see" or perceive the Kingdom of God--of which Jesus is king--except the person becomes born again. According to the Scriptures, everyone designated to become born again were chosen in eternity (see Eph. 1:3-4). Therefore, the only Jews who were to be born again were the 120 in the upper room on on the Day of Pentecost. Therefore, all Jews rejected Jesus as the Messiah because they had not been inspired to do so. The death of Jesus paid for all sins ever committed and ever to be committed. The Bible says it is impossible for the blood of animals to atone for sins. The Bible also says that as in Adam all die, so in Christ all shall be made alive, but each in his own order. Therefore unrepentant Jews and others await their turn to become "born again" so they can understnd the gospel

The Jews in the old testament were expecting a king, someone with wealth and greatness, royalty. Not someone like Jesus who was a baby and then grew up into a man. The Jews had a hard time believing in something that they couldn't see. So Jesus is acutally God who came down in human form. They saw all the miracles and still didn't believe.

It comes down to the hardness of men's hearts, as well as the traditions of men. When Jesus came He was a revolutionary, threatening the entire way of life for the system of Judaism. This meant two things for the Pharisees: 1) A change of tradition from what they had done and 2) A change in power, from them to the Savior. They were only concerned with remaining in power over the people and doing things as they had always been done, making the "doctrines of men the commandments of God." God loves the Jewish people dearly, and as such, so do I. Paul said in Romans 10 that his prayer for Israel is that they might be saved!

Judaism rejects Jesus as the Messiah because they do not believe He was the Son of God. At least, this is what I've been told.

I have read all the messages so far, and have yet to hear someone of the Jewish faith to answer. Interesting.

The devil started a lie and they keep on believng it. As for atonement, it looks as if God has backed the Jewish people into a corner--either believe that Jesus is the only Sacrifice for sin or have no sacrifice at all.

The reason why the Jews rejected the Messiah,Jesus Christ was that because it was written in the scriptures and it has to be done. Secondly,it was to clean the whole world impurities as he was nailed to the cross of Calvary it was for the whole world good 'cause if it was not for that all human beings could have gone to hell fire.

The bible tells us that God hardened their hearts, which is why they don't believe in Christ. Many think that christians want the end times to come so the Jews will be wiped out, and that's not the case at all. We're promised in the bible that their hearts will be softened at that time and they'll come to believe before its too late. He promised the Jews that they're His chosen, and He will not break that promise, though many argue that. We have proof in Revelations, the 144,000, 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes, that will bring the Jews to the truth.
