Olive oil has a distinct taste to it and could alter the taste of your cake. I would not recommend it. If you do not have oil that you can use, either go to a 24 hour mart or wait til you can get some as you will like it much better in the end! :)

No, it's not the right type of oil. Subsitute the oil in the ingredients with applesauce. If it calls for 1/3 cup oil, use 1/3 cup applesauce. That makes the cake moister too & will cut the fat & calories down. I haven't made a cake with oil in years. I've been using applesauce for a long time, even before it was printed as an alternative on the cake boxes. I use Mott's Natural Applesauce. Any unflavored brand will work too. I've also used cinnamon in white cakes for a different flavor & strawberry applesauce in strawberry cakes.

Never! Olive Oil has a strong taste that does not go well with sugar. Save the olive oil for vinegar or lemon juice.

No, don't even think about it. The olive oil has a strong flavor that is not good for baking. Will ruin your brownies, cakes, cookies and muffins. DO NOT use it.

Substitute oil with apple sauce. Its better for you and the cake will be really moist. Whenever any cake or muffin recipe calls for oil I always use apple sauce instead and everyone always loves it.
