one...i don't smoke and two...i don't drive. (i don't have my license yet) so to answer your question...no i've never been told by another motorist to put out my cigarette while waiting at a red light.

No, but a not so nice Kentucky State Police Officer once told me it was not nice to throw a cigarette down on the ground and offered me a $500 fine if I didn't want to pick it up....Sooo, I picked it up...:)
