It means that they have alcohol (despite the person that said otherwise), they have a bartender (despite the person that said otherwise), you just have to pay for your drinks.

It's a stupid way to say there will be a cash bar only. People are trying to sound less cheap, but instead they are just confusing people. Either say nothing and have a few people be surprised that they have to pay for their own drinks (are they there for you or the free drinks?), or just tell them it will be a cash bar. Just realize that if you have it at a ritzy place with very expensive drinks, some people may not stay very long.

Different translations of the bible would suggest love and charity are synonmus. Examples found in.1st Corrinthians ch. 13 vs. 1-17 illustrate this many times. I would enjoy hearing from a scholar of the languages used in those past times to clarify my understanding. The story of the "World's Poorest Philanthropist", Gilbert "Harold" Ewing II (myself) is the reason for this querry. The " act of grace", or charity, reffered to in the news interview, has posited this question and I lack the sort of education to provide any insights of true value.

A "no host" cocktail party means you have to pay for your drinks. The host is not paying for them.
