No, it shouldn't hurt unless it's really dry. Maybe it wasn't time for it to come out. Also, make sure that when you insert it, you're not putting it up too far. This can cause small abrasions in the vagina. Abrasions mean pain. That might have caused it. Trust me...almost every girl has put a tampon a little too far up "there" once or twice.
Usually, when my tampon is ready to come out, I have to do #1 anyway, so that helps, since the tampon gets a little wet on the bottom. Try waiting til then next time, perhaps.

There are sphincter muscles at the opening of the vagina that can become irritated by the removal of a dry tampon, or even if you have to remove one than one tampon every couple of hours.
If you are not used to using tampons, give it some time. After you have gone through two to three periods, the pain should subside considerably.

No. It is not suppose to hurt when you take out a tampon. Make sure you are in a sitting position when you are putting it in and taking it out.

It does sometimes, I won't lie to you.
It depends on how big it is, if you go small then it isn't too bad.
I use something called O.B. tampons...they don't have an applicator but they're really small and easy to use. They're also made of special material so you can flush them instead of throwing them away.
They come in a really small white cardboard box, and they say O.B. on them. Check them out in the store, they're so much easier and they do not hurt as much as regular tampons can.

Yes it can. If the tampon is not full it will definitely hurt! Try waiting a bit longer to change.

Only when it is not time to take it out yet. You should wait a little longer before removing them or maybe using tampons for lighter fluid...

Actually, no, it's supposed to easily glide out when it's full. You might want to change to a lower absorbency level one
