exactly my point. God, jesus, and the holy ghost are all seperate beings. to me it is so obvious. I believe this completely because heavenly father gave his only begotton son (jesus) to te earth to be crucified so we can be saved. it is that simple! oh and i can say that my best friend and i are one but it may not mean that literally!

Jehovah (YHWH) The Father is One Person, Jesus Christ the Son of God is One person, The Holy Spirit is One Person...3 distinct Individual Persons: One God (One being) Jesus Christ the Son was addressing God the Father in the Garden of Gethsemane. Think of it like this...a light bulb is made up of 3 parts..(1) the glass bulb (2) the filiment which is what creates the light (3) the electricty which is the power. Each of these articles are distinctly different, yet it requires all 3 elements to be a working light.

A lot of interesting, and some correct answers here, but Solidus takes theology to a whole new level. He couldn't back that answer if he tried!

Anyway, the one thing that a lot of people left out was that when He came down to earth, the Bible says that Jesus "laid aside His glory". Being fully God and fully man, Jesus put aside the part that made Him God while He was on earth. The miracles He performed were made possible because Jesus had a direct connection with God the Father, and that was through prayer. Jesus devoted a lot of time to prayer.

Jesus was always giving glory to God for the miracles that were being shown. When Jesus raised Lazerus from the dead He prayed to God and gave glory to Him for what was about to happen.

When Jesus died on the cross, God the Father turned His back on His Son, because His Son had become the sin sacrifice for all of us. For that moment in time Jesus knew what hell was like because He experience separation from God.

Jesus said continually that "I and the Father are one" because they were. Jesus lived the example that we all can learn. We can have the same power if we live as He did. That's what Christians should be striving for.

The question depends on an understanding of the Trinity. In human life any three persons must be three seperate people, but a Trinitarian understanding of God teaches that God is three persons in one being. If you think about it, it's necessary in order to support most Christian's idea of God: that He is love, and that He is totally complete. To love there must be at least two persons: a lover and a beloved. These two persons (Father and Son) exist in one being in a perfect relationship, and the Spirit of that relationship comprises the third part of the Trinity. God lacks nothing; not even worship, praise, or obedience. There is nothing (apart from our free will) that can be given to Him that He does not already possess in Himself. When Jesus prayed to his Father it was only the Son doing what He had done from eternity. Jesus is not seperate from God any more than a beam of light is seperate from its source. He is God - God the Son. One God, three persons: the Trinity.

Jesus and God are as one acting the same.It is almost like when two people get married and they become as one. Jesus was praying to the Heavenly Father. It is like when you have a son who is in your image. Imagine that you have a child and they meet someone who know you but not he child, but as the child starts speaking, it reminds the person of you. It applies the same way here when it comes to Jesus and the Father...get it?

God - the creator of all things
Jesus - The savior and the judge
Holy Spirit- the comforter

they had three separate jobs but all were in agreeance with each spirit of each other

Jesus is God manifested in the flesh as man. However, they are two separate beings. Just look at it like this, Husband and a Wife are considered ONE in marriage ... but, aren't they two separate persons? Jesus and God are ONE spirit. Together, the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are ONE spirit ... separate in persons. Like a family, several people make up the family, but it's one family ... kindasorta the same ...

Most people do not believe they are the same person. We just believe that He is God. We take Jesus at His Word when he says, in John 10:30, "I and my Father are one." and when he claims to be God in John 8:58, that's kind of a big deal. It's the Trinity--God in three persons. :)

They are separate beings.
Jesus commanded the saints to be one as he and his Father are one.
A lot of the confusion comes from translation problems.
Part of it is because Jesus is the father of heaven and earth.
He created the worlds.
He is the father of our rebirth.
All communication with God is through Jesus, he is the one who talked with Moses and all of the other prophets.

But he totally submits himself to his father who is also the father of our spirits and our eternal father.

P.S. ask God for yourself

P.S.S. Jesus is Jehovah, and Alpaha and Omega

I'm glad I don't understand Gods character completely. If God was small enough to understand everything about him, then he wouldn't be big enough to take care of my problems.
The Father is not Jesus.
Jesus is not the Father.
The Holy Spirit is not the Father.
The Holy Spirit is not Jesus.
Jesus is 100% God.
The Father is 100% God.
The Holy Spirit is 100% God.
There is only ONE God!
Who has been Gods councilor? Not I.
The bible says it and so I believe it. I believe that God can actually do and be things that I can not fully grasp. Can you?

Well not being a trinitest, I have the same kind of problem as you. There is only one God, Ex. Ps 83:18, And only one Jesus, 1Tim 2:5.
