I am raising my daughters to be good Christian women who will do as God intended for their husbands, stay at home, raise the children, allow their husbands to be the head while they are the heart, be the child's first teacher, probably homeschool, clean the house, make meals, basically, be a wife and mother. My question is, is do men still find this attractive in a woman or do they think it is outdated and would prefer a working type who acts more like a man?

I'm always hearing about men wanting such women. I hope my daughters will be able to find good husbands in this crazy world. I just want to know if it is true or if society has changed so much that it is not so.

Well, yes. . . there are quite a few of us who wish we could find a girl like that. I think it's beautiful. But they aren't too easy to come by nowadays.

Yes, some men like the old school type of wife. However, women are now aware that they can be much more than a wife and mother, and so they should if that is what they want.

I am a stay at home mom but I am an equal to my beloved husband. We make household and family decisions together. We live in the country and I stay home and cook and clean and raise the kids, and even run a small dog grooming business to earn extra money. I would never want to be the type of mother that puts her kids in daycare as soon as they are born so as not to interfere with her career; but I do understand the very real need for two incomes in many families.

I also fear that men who consider themselves the "head" may feel that they have the right to abuse your daughters; after all, the origin of the term "rule of thumb" is that you may beat your wife with a rod no thicker than your thumb. Is that what you want for them?

I would stop trying to marry off your daughters to men that fit your ideas. Let them decide for themselves what kind of family they want to have. There is nothing in Christianity that prevents a woman from being more than a man's chattel.

Let me tell you what I hope I can do for my daughter when she gets to the age of dating (hopefully responsible by 15 or 16, no earlier).
I am going to take her on a date. I am going to show her how a man should treat a perspective partner/spouse/companion. I will open the door for her, I will tell her how beautiful she is(I do that every day, anyway), I will pay her meals, I will walk her home, I will respect her for who she is, and I hope she will know how to recognize a good man in the making.

Unfortunately, the world has changed to where women need to work. Also, some women don't want to give up their lives for the benefit of a godly husband. Also, the world has become too busy for a traditional family to be raised.
I waited til I was 35 to get married. The other women I dated didn't hold these values, even though they claimed to be Christian. I almost gave up hope until the Holy Spirit told me I was ready.
I believe there are some women who wish they could stay home to raise their children. The problem is this can't always be accomplished.

Submission and respect will definitely open up a whole shelf of the proverbial "can of worms" on this. If there is one word the world hates to hear, its submission to another.

You'd better hope that your daughters either find husbands with enough money to be at least middle class on one income (or with a second job so they never see him) or are happy as lower class. Or that you have enough money to help them out or something. These days, the way expenses are, to have anything resembling a comfortable life almost completely necessitates two adults earning incomes. Especially if they want something like owning a house or a new car.

It's not even a materialistic thing. Depending on where you live, it can be incredibly expensive just to buy food. Milk here is almost $4. I remember working at a grocery store in high school six years ago, and it was only $2.50. That can add up, especially as the kids come along. My daughter and husband go through two gallons of one kind of milk a week, and I go through about a quart of another, and that can add up to $10 for milk in just one week!

There is some one for everyone. Personally I love a women who has both a good head on your shoulders and a big heart. Compromising is the key to all relationships. To be honest with some men like a women like that while others do not. Some women feel that it is degrading to women to teach your daughter to be a traditional wives. Many feminists in this society degrade men so that they may feel superior instead of believing that both men and women are equal and that each contribute a distinct attribute to their relationship. I hope that makes sense have a great night.

true

My wife has decided that she is going to stay home and raise our children when we have them, she is in school right now for a teaching Masters. This will let her teach during the day when the kids are old enough to go to school.

In order to plan on this decision, we have found a modest home that I can afford on my salary alone.

I hope that your daughters do find good, decent men for their husbands.

You're setting your daughters up to be manipulated and walked all over. Those ideas are pretty outdated. Men today will jump at the chance to take advantage of women like that, and they could be very abusive to them psychologically, emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Mature men are looking the world over for women like that. Immature kids bent on multiple orgasms as a relationship will find them old fashioned, but that is a good thing.

Proverbs 31

Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character

10 [c] A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.

11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.

12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.

14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.

15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.

16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.

18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.

19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.

21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

29 "Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

31 Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

You first have to ask yourself what is a traditional wife- If you think a woman who stays at home and raises her children is traditional it's not, the traditional wife that you are thinking of is a romantic view-pure fiction.
Reading this verse you can see that this woman is a hard working woman, provides for her children and servants, her husband respects her, she makes sound business desicions, and runs her business accordinaly, she is respected in the city, she muli-tasks, her children are as bleesed as she, she is full of wisdom-this is who you should raise your daughters to be. Not raise them to please a man, you will bring them nothing but grief.

There's no such thing as God. You need to grow up and realize this. If men have brains, they will reject your daughters because of their Christianity.
