A graphics card is a card that you install on your motherboard. Some motherboards have onboard graphics but they usually arent as good as an aftermarket card such as ATI or NVIDEA. VGA simply means video graphics array which is about the lowest standard in graphics. Most systems now use SVGA which is super video graphics array. GPU stands for graphics processor unit which exists on graphics cards and motherboards that have on board graphics. If you want to know what you have for graphics you need to go into your control panel and click the system folder. Find the hardware tab and look for device manager. Right click on display and look at properties.

right click on "my computer"
then scroll down and left click on "properties"
then left click on the "hardware" tab
then left click on the "device Manager"
scroll down and left click on "display adapters"
and that will tell you what kind of graphic card you have in your computer.
