I can hardly stop myself from devouring it, it looks just like Almond Rocca. I don't think it is bad for him, he's a dog, I am human and feel great.

It's normal for a dog to chow down on stuff from the catbox. If you have a big dog just try to put the cat box in a place where the cat can reach it but the dog can't and make sure you can reach it at all times because if you can't you won't be able to clean it.If you have a small dog than I suggest you just keep a good eye on it and try to train it to where it won't chow down on stuff from the catbox again. If you have a big dog you should still try to train it to where it won't chow down on that stuff but it'd make it easier to move the catbox.

wow!
that one response was very involved.....
and all of it may be true...
However, having owned, bred, shown, dogs for twenty-five odd yrs, I'd like to profer a much simpler explanation....
Dogs don't have the same social taboos we do...what smells like poop to us, smells like food to them...they don't see it as waste but rather as food.....
And dogs will generally eat anything available....
I'm sure that all sorts of bad things could potentially occur, and I'm equally sure that all the previous info is something to think about if your dog is acting sick in other ways...
but...generally, the only problem associated with a dog snacking from the litter box is that you can't control the weight gain...
put the litter where pooch can't get it...or simply adjust the food you are feeding to make sure you don't wind up with an obese dog...
Actually, the flip side of the coin is that you don't have to clean out the litter box quite as often....

my dog gets in to the kitty krunches too! It's bc they lack protein in their diet! I know it's gross! But try to move the littler box somewhere the dog can't get into it! Or get a top for the litter box and face the hole several inches from the wall! This way the cat can get in it and not the dog!

Dogs love cat poop that is normal, but you should be worried if it is the clump and scoop kind of kitty litter because it would really be a big problem for the dog. Can you imagine having a bellyfull of chemically treated kitty litter lumping up in your stomach, yuk!!

Didn't you know that dogs were little oinkers in disguise? I bet you didn't, did you!
Could be a variety of reasons, from natural behaviour of the animal to missing vitamins and minerals.
On the farm, the dogs would eat horse manure all the time. I gave up and let them have their snacks.

Quite possibly a reduction in your grocery bill. You'd no longer have to buy dog food, just cat food. If you try it and like it, now there would be a further reduction in your bill. You could spend the extra cash on alcohol to wash it down.

Cat food is much higher in protein than dog food. There is still "usable" protein in the cat's feces. Sounds disgusting but that is why they do it. They make products to add to their food that makes the poop taste bad; most are for dogs only but one called Forbid you can feed to cats. Since the cat would have to eat the product to make is poop unpalatable to the dog you need one safe for cats.
also try MSG or canned spinach(some cats do like spinach).

LIL! That's crazy, but my dog sometimes does that too. I heard that when they eat poop that it is because they ate lacking a certain vitamin in their diet. I got some vitamins from the vet and that has helped some. But she does still do it from time to time and it still grosses me out. Good luck Hun!

"Kitty chocolate." Ewww.
Kind of makes dog kisses a little less inviting.
Dogs are nutz, but I love dogs. So much unconditional love. Dog's rock.
