Jesus was crucified because his teachings were radically liberal. “Love your enemy. Turn the other cheek.” Stuff like that. Ultra liberal. Why do I keep hearing about “Conservative Christians? Can you be a Christian and yet reject all of Jesus teachings?

The word "Christian" comes from Christ - a follower of Jesus Christ, and to be a true Christian you do need to accept Jesus' teachings. In fact, it isn't really correct to consider yourself a Christian if you don't believe in Jesus or his teaching.
As for the meaning of a liberal or conservative Christian, this is quite a different aspect of Christianity and is more to do with different people's interpretation of the Bible. Some of these differences are more inconsequential than others, but some issues can really split a church body, like for example whether homosexuality is a sin or not. "Conservative" Christians would say that it is, whereas more "liberal" Christians would argue that it isn't, just as an example.

Well in the Bible the word Christians was used to describe those that not only believed in the teachings of Jesus, but also dedicated their lives to those beliefs. The problem with most Christians nowadays is that they, like in Christs' day, are following the letter of the law without seeking out the heart of the law through prayer and fasting.

Yes, you have to belive in the teachings of Jesus to be Christian. It's the interpretation of the Bible that causes the conflict between liberals and conservatives (not political).

No. You can't reject his teachings. Either you follow his teachings or you don't. Either you are a Christian (following Christ) or you are not.

God/Jesus loves us when we are sinners and pursues us for a relationship. Once you become a born again Christian; he continues to pursue you. It's an awesome relationship!

Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins...mine, yours...everyone.

Grace to you and God Bless!

If you can't deal with Christ's teachings, maybe you should go for judism. The word "christian" should tell you that He's the point of christianity.

to be a Christian, you need to be saved and accept Jesus into your heart. it is only logical that you accept His teachings. if you were to look into it more and study His teachings more, then they will make more sense to you. one way to do that is to go to a church or to talk to other Christians.
