I wasn't alive when the Vietnam vets came home, but I've heard of the atrocities done to them by the Americans. The Iraq veterans should be treated with dignity, respect, pride & love. They went where most of us wouldn't go & fought hard for our continued freedom.

Since most people that are on this site weren't alive during the Viet Nam war, your question really is ignorant.

If I have always treated the Viet Nam vets with respect, and the Viet Nam war was worth fighting. The only thing I'm ashamed about is after we pulled out we let millions be slaughtered in Cambodia, Laos, and Viet Nam.

The commies like the terrorists are both groups that need to be crushed. Since I have had friends that went over and have came back, I have done my part to support them.

But I guess with the amount of ignorance you wouldn't understand any of this.

The Iraqi veterans will probably be treated the same as the Vietnam ones.

I really hope not. What had been done to the Viet Namn soldiers and veterans was and is the worst I've ever seen or read about.
That was one era of American history that I am ashamed of. No soldier should ever be treated like the enemy.

The Iraq veterans will probably be treated like the Viet Nam vets. They don't deserve it now, just as they didn't deserve it then.

All veterans deserve respect - even if you don't agree with the battle they fought, they deserve respect for putting their lives on the line to fulfill a vow they've taken to God. I was there when my brother swore in to the Army, and he is home safe now from Iraq. Our oldest brother served in Vietnam. Both deserve respect for their dedication.

we cant make right what our grandparents did to the vietnam soldiers, but the soldiers coming home now are all getting warm welcomes. parades, and a lot of thanks. (well i can speak for the ones i know) so i dont think they are being treated the same and maybe we "americans" learned and will not let history repeat itself.

no we will not treat them the same, it is a different war and a war for different reasons. anyway some have come home, i have two step brothers that were there and they have gotten nothing but respect from everyone.

You know... I see many vets that dont get the respect they deserve. Not just vets, current soldiers too. Its sad that we risk our lives and leave our families to fight and fight without support from the American public. kinda makes me want to get KIA... at least I get a fancy burial and a my name written somewhere nice.

I"m totally anti- the Iraq war...but it's not the guys over there's fault. I respect the troops and thank them for their valiant performance...and will respect you guys as long as I live...but Bush has misused you...it was his fault...he is an IDIOT.
