He said looked with Lustful Intent. INTENT. That means that you WANTED TO do something sinful with her. I check chicks out all the time. But you know what? At the end of the day I go home, they go home and we both go to sleep in our respective beds. According to your interpretation, I'm committing a sin when I go look for a wife. To hear you tell it I'm committing a sin just by thinking about sex. You're wrong.
Jesus said that WANTING to have sinful relations is the same as ACTUALLY HAVING sinful relations. Your self defeatist perspective on Christianity has contaminated your entire philosophy. Don't feel bad, though. You're not alone.

To kero_berus:
I'm not one of those kinds of Christians. I have more important things to do than to support Pat Robertson.
I will say this, though. You sound just as bad as them.

1) They are trying to work their way into heaven, or 2) They love their sin, are not about to give it up, or 3) They do not want to buck the system by keeping ALL of them, so they pick and choose the ones that the system likes, and say that you can not keep the rest of them, and if you try, then that is legalism. In any case they get to quite their consents and keep their eyes blind. I am sorry, but grace does not replace the law, Rom 6:15. WE ARE STILL UNDER THE LAW, because with out it we would not know what sin is.

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Good for monotheists, but not for everyone else.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.
This includes a lot of art, so I don't think people will agree with that.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Who takes the time to try to pronounce YHWH?
4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Done and done here, but some people need to work in order to live. You can't go asking for days off if you're desperate.
5. Honour thy father and thy mother.
Hard sometimes, especially if you've been fu**ed over by them.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
I can agree to this, but some people would rather destroy.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
People have urges, and many more have no self-control
8. Thou shalt not steal.
Sorry, can't do that. I'm a pirate! Yar!
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
If you really want somebody gone, you'll go to great lengths
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his mule, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
If your neighbor has nice stuff, of course you're going to want it!

Well, I agree it is not impossible, but it's harder than you think. "Checking out girls" as you call it, is a sin. Your eyes should not linger on any female form.
Murder includes abortion, birth control...
Lying includes the little things that people think are okay. Just because it's little doesn't mean it's not wrong.
Honoring our parents means not revealing their faults to others. (we have a hard time not complaining about them sometimes.)
Not stealing includes not lying on our taxes, not hiding something from someone for yourself...
Don't ever take God's name in vain. Something most people don't think twice about doing. I think perhaps you took our Lord's name in vain just with your first line....
We shall not have other Gods, meaning you shouldn't put football before mass. You shouldn't put work before God. You shouldn't put your spouse before God....
Keeping the Lord's Day holy.. Wow, people break this one all the time. This means no shopping on Sundays. No manual labor, no mowing your lawn, nothing unnecessary that requires someone to work for you or you to work.

It is next to impossible, and I can almost guarantee that you haven't done that. 1.)Putting ANYTHING before God at anytime violates this. 2.)not too hard, I'll give you that one 3.)I do that, so I could say maybe 4.)Ever skip church...every worked on Sunday? 5.)You never argues with your parents? 6.)you can obviously do this 7.) I can almost guarantee that every guy has violated this...Christ says that if we lust after a woman, than we have commited adultery with her in our hearts. 8.)Every stolen a candy bar or anything... 9.)Ha! bet you 've violated this one 10.)Ha, you're telling me that you've never seen someone driving a really nice car and wanted the car?

Grace replaces the need for Law - because when we are reborn of Light no ego remains to do harm! The 'law' becomes permanently imprinted on our hearts and all desire to go against 'good' and choose 'bad' DIES forever. This is the result of being born again of the Spirit. As long as there is ego there, spiritual rebirth hasn't yet happened. The ego sins -- that is just its nature. Its ridiculous to expect unenlightened 'believers' to not sin. They are only doing what's natural to their polarized consciousness.
God Bless!

Well actually people look at them as "laws" restrictions on our lives but actually if we follow God's command on loving God, loving others, as we would ourselves than we wouldn't commit those sins. If people get the notion to let love govern our lives and not law in which was the intent of Jesus dying for our sins, he has fulfilled the law. Hmm funny satan didn't see that coming when he coerced the religious leaders to have Him killed.

Because they fail to ask God for the help they need.
What most people fail to understand is that Christ gave us a tougher standard when he came, to become like him.
This is of course a life long process and the ten commandments is a good place to start.
Also is love thy neightbor as thyself.
It is OK to like girls.

It's possible but not everyone is perfect. That's why Christians, including myself, needed Jesus in the first place! Without God leading us and guiding us, we would mess up every day. It's easy to say I'd never do that, but it's a whole lot harder than it sounds.

Humans are evil creatures. It is impossible for a person to uphold the laws. That is why Jesus had to die so that we would not be judged by the law if we accepted His sacrifice. Only God is able to abide by the law and since Jesus is God He was the perfect sacrifice so we could take His place in glory. But He had to accept our punishment.

They are not impossible to keep. And at times we might slip but G-d forgives us. A loving G-d would not give laws we could not keep. By the way I know many people that I am sure keep ever one of these. I do my best with honest intent.
