Yes. I have a Sansui, model VRDVD4005.

It will record VHS to DVD and vice versa. However, it will not copy DVD with the copyright encryption. But, it will record to either DVD or VHS TV programs. It does not record well HDTV, but does fine with SDTV.

No it doesn't
Why would you want to go from dvd to vhs? Just hook the dvd player to the vcr and the record.

yes but they are commercial grade and have to be ordered from media production suppliers, but copy protection is what makes it difficult for you to record
