What you can do is that he/she in your house you make he/she pay the bills and do the chores. And you need to talk to your adult child that you are not going to be there forever. As soon he/she realizes that he/she is responsible enough for the expenses he/she will realize that she/he does bot need you anymore. I hope you can work it out.

I know that would be hard to do being a mother myself, but there comes a time in everyones life that they need to take responsibility for themself. Explain to them they are old enough to be on their own, give them a month to save the money for a place of their own and stick to your word. If this child doesn't learn to depend on them self now, what will happen when your not here to do it for them.

Dad? Is that you?
Why do you want to kick ME out of the house?

Give him two weeks notice to make other arrangements. If after the two week deadline shows and he is still there, call the police to have them help you evict them. This isn't rocket science.... If you have scum for children quit helping them. Don't be an enabler.

Good Luck

try to work out a solution.. kicking your adult child out is no option.. good luck.. he/she will have no place to live and probably end up dead or in jail..

You have a talk with them and explain to them that this needs to happen and then work with them on establishing a plan to make it happen and set a date for it to happen on. Some times it just takes a bit of tough love.

tell him/her you want them to move out. Give them like 2 weeks to find somewhere else to stay. Then if they still refuse, just throw his/her stuff out one day when he/she is not at home. Then refuse to let them back into the house.

Give him/her a couple days or weeks to find a job. And a place to live and tell them you are doing this for their own good.

Consider moving. When my parents decided to move, that was the best way to get me out.
