Originally the process used to place food in a metal can. Now however it refers to the process used to preserve food for later use. To seal in an airtight container for future use; preserve: canning peaches.

Probably because it is in a confined place, it doesn't expire so it can be used for years to come..................i guess..........lol
They probably put it in glass jars so that they can see the food and stuff they choose to put in it.

canned food dosen't have an expiration date, most of the time.. there for, if it doesn't go bad it's canned!
