peer pressure, media, family, inability to cope with problems. lots of people your age go through this. they have no outlet for anger or frustration and see these alternatives as their release. a very big component of this is peer pressure. they want or need to fit in somewhere they feel like they belong. alienation from parents or authoritative figures. it's a whole mix of things but it boils down to there situation and their own personal dilemmas.
