No unfortunatly not, tey are now coming out with a vacine for cervical cancer (which is caused by HPV). I in 4 people do have HPV though. Scary huh? That's why everyone 18 + and sexually active people need to be checked yearly or after each new partner.

there are over 50 types of hpv ..so it depends on which type you are talking about...hpv is the same virus that causes warts on your hands...and we all know they can be gotten rid of...there are some types that will cause warts around the genitals, and some types that will just show up in the vaginal canal or the cervix. Men rarely show symptoms of it but they can be carriers...and not all HPV will cause cancer...and it is not all sexually transmitted...I guess this is just a long way of saying that it depends on what type of HPV...But talking to your doctor can save a lot of problems later..

There are no cures but treatments are available. Any signs of the virus, such as condyloma, may be treated with cautery, by freezing, laser methods, or with special creams. The body sloughs off the abnormal cells and allows regeneration of new, healthy cells in the affected area(s). The virus will still remain by lying dormant in the surrounding tissues, and therefore, there may be recurrence of symptoms. It can still be passed on to others. More info on the link

No. But it only becomes dangerous if it turns into lesions that cause cervical cancer. Thats why women get Pap tests. They detect the lesions so they can be removed before they turn into cancer.

No it is not. Although you may not always have symptoms. If you do have signs and symptoms visit your physician or ob because it can cause sterility.
