If you are on a budget right now it is a good choice if you need furniture. If you can wait, save up and get quality furniture.
If you move a lot it is a good and bad because it disassembles so you can move, it is lightweight; but it brakes easily because it is so cheap.
Definately go there for accessories, artwork, etc. Things that you dont really use and are easy to replace to change the feel of the room.

When I first started in business, I outfitted my office with their furniture. I had book cases, a credenza, file drawers and desk system. I had no problem with the glass desk on a metal frame, but the bookcases, credenza and file drawers were really not made for hard use. I had a lot of heavy books and the shelves started to bow. The hinges on the cubbies started to break free from the sides. The glides on the file drawers started to bend and I could not fill the drawers all of the way because the drawers did not fully extend and you couldn't get to the stuff in the back. Since it was laminate over pressed wood, the laminate started to separate from the wood. It looked really nice, sleek and contemporary for about the first 5 years. Now it is relegated to the garage where I use it as an organizer for home improvement projects.

Yes I buy furniture from IKEA all the time. Am I happy with it. I must say both yes and no. Some piece I enjoyed tremendously others I thought were a piece of junk. The furnitrue in our family room I think is a piece of junk but the desk in my office is wonderful.

IKEA is a good way to fill your house with furniture if you are on a budget. I would not trust them with too many functional pieces, but some of their lighting stuff is cool and their organizers for closets and such are usually pretty good. They have some really cool pieces and it is easy to get sucked in by the low prices. Just be ready to put a lot of the stuff you buy together, as it usually all comes unassembled. It is usually pretty easy to put together though. Good luck!

My computer cabinet is from IKEA, as well as my computer chair and I couldn't be happier. The cabinet was a bit of a pain to assemble (the price you pay for cheap furniture), but I load it down with equipment and supplies and it suits me just fine.

I bought a loft bed from Ikea and I love it. It was inexpensive and just what we needed. But after some time I'm sure knicks and scratches will appear since it is laminate on compressed wood. You will get what you pay for with Ikea, but your not really looking for family heirlooms there. Just cheap and great!!! (and good looking for about 5 years)

I have a number of things from Ikea. My entire office is from there. I love the desks that I have! It depends on what you buy from them. Just like at most furniture stores, usually if you pay more, you will get better quality. Their more expensive stuff is very nice, and their less expensive stuff is better if you're on a budget. I think it's worth it.

Yes I have and no I wasn't. I ordered a book case and a head board for my daughter's room. It was made SO cheaply. I actually returned it.
