After the kittens are about three to five weeks of age, the mother might begin to refuse to feed her kittens, only to resume feeding them a few days later. This is often to get them to start eating solid food and to give herself a break. This does indicate that the mother has started the weaning process. Most kittens are weaned from their mother by five weeks of age. If weaning still has not occurred after the kittens are six weeks of age and the mother begins to show signs of great fatigue, you might need to take her to the vet.

You do nothing. Let the momma do it, they know best. She will slowly push them away soon. Just make sure there is always hard food and water available. I would put out soft food 4 or five times a day if you can to get the kittens interested. Make sure that you are feeding momma kitten food until she is done weaning her kittens. Good luck=)

You don't really want to aim for weaning just yet but you can start to get them aquainted to other things cause it takes quite a few tries before they get it.
I always offer my kittens some baby cereal mixed with canned food and make it really runny, mom will eat most of it at first. They will just walk thru it alot and then lick their paws and then realize that it taste yummy but like I said it will take a week or two before they figure this out.
But let mom do the weaning she will let them know when she's had enough.

You don't have to wean them, mum will take care of that. (If you are thinking of adopting them out, wait until they are at least 12 weeks old.) This website says from 3-6 weeks you can start offering them wet kitten food. They dive headfirst into the dish and get messy like human babies, but they will get the hang of it. This is the time to start handling them so they get used to the human touch and smell. Read the full article, quite informative.

The mother will push them away eventually. My cat nursed her kittens a long time almost till after 9-10 weeks because we had the kittens awhile before I had found a good home for them. But eventually she did push them away and they ate all on their own

Mama cat will take care of that herself. She'll start weaning them between 6-8 weeks of age.
You don't want to physically keep them apart. The babies need the nutrients they get from their mother's milk to stay healthy.
Just trust that mama knows what she's doing. She'll start pushing them away when the time is right.

i think its usually 8 weeks because thats when you can sell them. you might want to go a week later or so because any sooner then 8 weeks and there is a good chance they could die.
