Yawning is a way of ones body taking in more air (oxygen) into ones repiratory system. At the same time, it gives the opportunity for ones body to relieve itself of a different type of air called "Carbon Dioxide" Also its just a quick way of getting more air into your body quicky.

when there is a lack of oxygen in our body, we yawn and refresh ourselves. that is why we take in all the air when we yawn.

Because many of us do not breathe properly and our brain becomes oxygen deprived. Sometimes our breathing slows due to boredom or tiredness.

Because we're tired and lack sleep, due to getting to bed late and up early. Or from getting up too early. Or we're exausted.

it is because sometimes we are sleepy but sometimes it cuold just be because our brain needed oxygen to work that is the fast way to give to your brain and also how you get a second wind

dunno for sure but since it is contagious you can tell who is looking at you if you yawn and someone else is too....it works!
