We all know about emotional readiness. I'm not talking about that, but rather the social comparison.

I think anything earlier than 16 is probably too early, but if you're older than 21 and STILL haven't... it'll raise a few eyebrows...if you're a guy.

For girls, (and there is a double-standard - I'm not endorsing it but I'm acknoledging it as fact so get over it), I'd say not earlier than 18, but if she's over 22 it'll raise eyebrows, over 24 - more so).

For sexual statistics, you may consult the HITE report.

Personally, I don't think it is 'ever too late' , but I am hearing differently. Which is why I am looking for information and discussion on the topic. At 65 I have recently been in and am still in a very nice, satisfying "friends with benefits" relationship with a great chap aged 69. He and I do not know of any others as lucky as he and I. Is it another of society's "dirty little secrets"?
Meanwhile if you feel like it and it is available --I say go for it--society will have to catch up.

let's talk straightforward, if someone is considered "mature" and never had any relationship (it means probably 25 year old or older) some people may think this is a litle bit unacceptable. I guess it's up up to the person him/herself. Having a lot of gir/boyfriends doesn't do a lot of good to the person all the times. Although the person may had more active sexual activities (or being considered cooler), the person is hard to build strong relationship (or hard to find a true love).

I don't think you can be "late" for any of these. You are going to go on what you think you should anyways. None of us girls listened to our mother's when they were giving us the "speech", all teenagers think adults don't know what its like in today's world..lol..its always the same just the time is different. As for dating, I think you should be at least least be 15 before you start. Having sex, I think you should wait until you are at least 17-18 but of course waiting until you were married would be the best way to go. You will learn as you get older that all these things are better with age! Take your time and don't rush!

i think if you have not had any sexual contact by the age of 27 years there is something wrong. People are going to think you weird when you finally decide to start dating and they find out that they are the first person you have ever held hands with or kissed!! If you wait too late it gets too complicated and people will think there is something wrong with you.

merely because someone dates even as they are of their adolescents would not recommend they are having sex, and some adult adult males do take relationships heavily. I delight in having a boyfriend yet i visit stay with being unmarried also. i imagine that courting for the period of severe college prepares someone for the destiny and what's to go back of their social existence and relationships contained in the destiny. i imagine that it facilitates you open up and study who you're besides as study about what type of adult adult males you've an interest in. and in no way all older adult adult males are extra mature. The oldest boyfriend i have had is 21 now, we were courting even as he grow to be 19, and he remains an immature jerk. i do not imagine adulthood is in conserving with age yet on journey and personality. and that i nonetheless stand with assistance from the very incontrovertible truth that courting in the course of the teen years are a competent component.
