Where does a soul come from? Does a sperm cell have a soul? No. Does an egg cell have a soul? No. So how can combining the two create a soul that will last for eternity? How can the product be more than the reactants combined?

From God, of course.

Psalm 139:13-16 (NKJV)
For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother's womb.
[14] I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
[15] My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
[16] Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.

You are making a very large assumption based on no known facts...how do you know that a sperm and an egg do not have souls?

I believe that every living thing has a soul or consciousness...at various levels of awareness and evolution. Including inanimate objects such as the earth, the air, vegetation and water.

A soul is not formed. Souls are eternal, with no beginning and no ending. Why, because they are part of God...eternal...no beginning and no ending. Souls decide to incarnate physically while they are still in the spiritual/non-physical dimension.

Nope, I can't prove it...it's what I believe though.

The Soul comes from the womb of Mother of the Universe which is the Void. That is why many Holy Mothers are black. Their blackness symbolizes the Void, the womb.

I don't believe my soul was "given" at birth or conception either.

I believe my soul was and still is being "grown". My soul is a combo of a lifetime's worth of experiences, knowledge, wisdom, mistakes, dislikes and likes, beliefs, etc.

My soul is dependent on my brain's neurons, neurotransmitters and synapses. When I die, my brain dies. When my brain dies, my soul dies.

Ultimately from God of course, how it all happens is a debatable mystery.
