My mom was 42 when she had my baby brother. There are some challenges that come from having a baby at a more mature age, like...let's face it, we get a bit more tired when we are older, but there is also the benefits. You have more experience and usually more patience. As well as being more settled in your life.

No, it's not too old as long as you want the baby, there's no problem. Remember that some people are really old (for instance, this 63-year-old woman who is pregnant in the UK). There's a mad dr in Italy.

So, my point is that in 30 years, 40 years or more, you will still be here to be with your kids. And today, people do get children later!

Good luck!

That depends on a lot of things such as your health, your marriage, your financial situation, your other children (if you have any), your job/career, etc. No matter what, though, I wouldn't leave it later than 40 because you have to add 18 - 20 years and you will be 58 - 60 before that child is possibly independent and longer if you will be assisting the child with post-secondary education. Also, you will have less time with your grandchildren. Lots of things to consider and not a decision to rush into. Also, as you get older, your chances of having a child with special needs increases - would you be able to cope, depending on what those special needs were? Think hard before you decide.

These days 40 is not old. Many women don't get married until their early to mid 30's and they are not having kids right away. If you have the energy and can care for it and be healthy then by all means go for it.

Hope this helps and good luck

Having a baby at any age isn't easy...and the older you get the harder conception is, so if you really want one you better get a move on because the clock is ticking. Make sure you look into all the risks. Good luck!

Yes I do... My mom is 30 years older than me and even that is a big difference.. But if you want the baby just do it... If you believe you can give it a good life the rest is ok.. There is a whole industry to help you with child caring...

No. If you really want it and have the energy to care for it. Do test it for Down Syndrome which affects babies born to women above 35 years old. The test is called Amniocentesis.

i think that it's a little bit too old. i am not trying to be morbid or anything but bu the time the baby is like 40 you'll be dead. it's not quite fair for them.

Yes, it is. You will have a high risk pregnancy and the baby could have physical or mental problems because of your age.
