I'm don't believe it's a sin, but I do believe it's ill-advised. Just because someone doesn't think just like you do doesn't give you the right to insult them and besides, what can insults accomplish that a sensible discussion can't? Even if you do feel better in the moment, in the long run you'll regret the missed opportunity to explain your point of view.

Some people seem to think it isn't.But yes.It is.A good Christian, as I am, can accept people as they are and neither judge them nor hate who they are.As long as I can live my life and I am happy then what does it matter how others live theirs?
I don't try to force my views on anyone. And people who do this are arrogant and ignorant and really have unhappy lives themselves. But rather then judge them I try to educate them that it is ok to be different.A task that is very hard to do.But I try.
But I do think that a sin is when a person lives in contempt of others and has no thought of love or kindness or compassion.A sin is not knowing your God and not living your life good.So in a sense it kind of is a sin to be insulting of others.

it might be. it depends on the situation. If you know your speaking out you *** and the other person is trying to guide you in the right direction, then yes it's a sin. But if you just strongly beleive in what your preaching about and without a question even if you are insulting to the other person, then i'ma say it's not a sin then.... But know the difference

Well, if you love thy neighbor as thyself you won't go around insulting them on purpose. I have a friend that's Jewish and I'm Catholic. We have civil conversations about religion without anyone getting insulted but that's hard to find because many people get defensive about that kind fo stuff. So, to intentionally insult someone isn't something that a loving God would encourage.

It is a very rude, senseless, childish and non-christian thing to do if someone belittles you or is insulting toward someone who doesn't believe the same things. It would be appropriate to share each other's views on their religions, etc., but NEVER appropriate to be insulting at any time.

yes, the word 'sin' means to loose the mark of perfection, and it is because of imperfection why we act that way some times.....however it is not a serious that we will make you loose Gods favor and if that is your weakness pray about it and ask God to forgive you, and try to be reasonable with all men knowing that not all we accept your belief, Take Jesus for example while he was here on earth not everyone accepted what he taught but did Jesus insult? no he didn't, read this scripture you will get my point...Col 2:16,17

You will be viewed as an insulting person if you act this way. When possible, I choose not to discuss a topic if I feel my views are drastically different from someone else, and that I may offend them. If they're trying to convert me, I ignore them.

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect ....
1 Peter 3:15
Never be insulting - you may then win them for Christ.

I don't know if I'm in a position to say what's a sin and what's not, but I certainly believe that to be wrong. I see this happening all the time and it seems incredibly hypocritical to me.

i wouldn't call it a "sin", but i'd say it's pretty rude. folks like that usually end up saying the wrong thing to the wrong person at the wrong time and get ****** up in the mean time. so eventually it comes full circle. and the rest of us can stand on the side line and laugh.
