If your mother only has a few weeks left to live cant you just make the most of that time ? Its not that important at this stage who gets what, I just think its a little selfish to be thinking that right now. You should be concentrating on making her time with you the best you can.The legal side of things will be sorted in the corret mannor as and when neccessary.

A mother is the most closest person one can ever have on this earth. She brought you to this world, loved you, caressed you, nursed and fed you while you were still a child and did not know anything. Now that you are so grown to just think of her house while she is in death-bed, than think of her ailing pain. A mother - she cannot curse you for she loves you, whatever you are !! You will learn very well when she is already gone. I pray sincerely for not letting her know whats in your mind during her last days.

what an awful person you are for asking a question like that on your MOTHERS death bed! If that is the only think you can think about in her last days than you are a greedy SOB!
If your mother does have a will it will be left to what the will says. In probate court the judge may decide that you must sell it and split the cost with your sister.

Sit down and dicuss it maybe who both should co-own the cottage that way you can each have it during half the year while the other can have it the other half of the year

This has to be a joke question? Your mother has a weeks left on this earth, with you. And your on Yahoo asking about what to do with her house! Its up to her isn't it? If this is a true question you should rethink and go and spend time with your mother before shes gone. I would prefer good memories and making sure my mother was OK before I thought about who gets her house.
