My hair's always been dry but recently it's gotten worse. It's curly (like a perm), dyed light brown (for a few yrs now) and thick. I'm of black and white descent if that helps.

I've invested in salon products but they do nothing for me. I've heard that Pantene Pro-V is like using ACID in your hair and your hair can fall out if you use it too much!!! So I'm stuck on what to buy now. Anything that's good for dry damaged hair is something I'd like to try. Thanks.

I use Tresseme or Garnier Fructis... Pantene is about the worst hair product out there- it uses way more chemicals and substances that actually harm your hair

I use Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine conditioner on my thick, dry hair. It really adds a lot of moisture. Aussie Mega Moisture conditioner is good as well, and I've heard Tresemme is effective.

You also should try using a deep conditioner or protein treatment on your hair once a week. You can find both at a beauty supply store. The assisstant should be able to point out a few for your hair type.

Or you can try coconut oil. Massage it into your scalp and pull it through your hair. Leave it on overnight, and shampoo it out in the morning. It adds moisture and shine, and actually repairs damaged hair. You can find coconut oil in a natural food store or online.

Good luck!

actual, I actually have never quite talked about alot of large difference. now and again the intense priced salon ones have a tendency to sniff better appropriate or go away an prolonged lasting reliable scent in hair - if it quite is wise. I not frequently ever use the intense priced ones, except I actually were at a salon and they apply it to me. I nomally merely purchase artful. i love those which have on them "evaluate to (insert large variety call)". from time to time i receives Pantene if I wanna splurge somewhat. i purchase although conditioner smells the most appropriate. i do not unavoidably ought to have them matching. As for hairspray. i purchase although is unscented. frequently artful or White Rain. i do not use Mousse. So no longer effective on that one.

actually if you're "mixed"then pantene won't take out your hair you just have to find the right pantene for you. you and i are just alike i use both pantene and african shea butter make sure it's pantene pro-v for women of color(it's in a bronze bottle). if that doesn't work shea butter most definatly will! it's like cocoa butter and 100 times better it can help anything dry hair, skin, stretch marks, scars you name it > trust me! oh treseme is for who ever is white in your family(no offense)
. and mayo only works on some hair!

I also have dry and color damaged hair. I switch back and forth between Suave and Vo5. Suave sells in the states for about 98 cents and Vo5 sells for a little over a dollar. Both are great hair products and both have shampoo and conditioner that puts in mosture and body. My salonist suggest getting the one that is for body and volume.

Have you tried mayonaise? I works great! Just put it on your hair (wet or dry) & cover with a plastic cap & leave it on for 30-60 minutes, then rinse with cool or slightly warm water & let it dry like you usually do. I will look & feel great...really! Do it when needed.
