Not exactly, Lemon juice by itself will not lighten the hair. Lemon juice AND the ultraviolet rays of the sun will lighten your hair. (Similar to a product called "Sun-In" ) The drawback here is dryness and if your is dark to begin with, it will turn orangutan orange! Be sure to buy a really good "hair conditioner " for after. Also the lemon, sun method needs about 5 hours in the sun. (Not good for the skin so wear sun block!)

IT DOES WORK....you just use lemon juice...apply it to you hair and just be outside in the sun, layout or do whatever you do....the sun lightens you hair where the lemon juice is....it should show up after doing that.

Lemon juice is used to remove residue caused by the different products we use in our hair resulting in "shinier" hair. It works!!

worked for me. I have naturally blonde hair, but rubbing real lemon juice in it while in the sun, made it lighter. I gave myself highlights! : )

Sorry I dont know if it works for dark hair

I wouldn't do it...I would go to a place called Sally's Beauty Supply, they are all over the place and ask a professional there what would be the best thing to do to lighten your hair.

It does, and it's far less harsh then those sun in products, being of Italian Latin decent myself it is best to go the natural route! If your looking for more lightning you would definately need to go to a colorist for a natural look!
