Where in the bible does it say not to do witchcraft and stuff like that? Does it say what is considered "evil" about it? How is satan involved if wiccans, etc. have nothing to do with demons or satan in their practices? I always wondered.

Exodus 20:3-4, says, "You shall have no other gods before me."...the 2nd, "You shall not make for yourself any idol...you shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God."

"before me" ; meaning "over against Me," this is a most appropriate expression in the light of the next verse. All false gods stand in opposition to the true God, and the worship of them is incompatible with the worship of Yahweh. When Israel departed from the worship of the only one and true God, she plunged into religious confusion.

The absolute censure of idolatry and false worship is the issue. The worship of man-made representations is nothing less than hatred of the true God.

Because the Bible doesn't say, "Thou shall have no other gods before Wicca," I presume that is why the practice of such things is wickedness in the eyes of God.

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 says it quite clearly: "There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable things Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you. "

Satan and his powerful demons use witchcraft as a snare and tactic to turn ones away from worshiping the true God. Don't even go there . . . . .

People just use the bible to their advantage knowing that others will not bother to check it out themselves. The bible shouldn't be regarded as anything more than a text written and re-written by kings and scholars with their own ideas. I believe in God, but I am against organized religion and such.
