Like as some sort of "medical breakthrough" which ends up turning millions of people into zombies? I know this is a weird, random question but I want your opnions anyway.

If for some reason there was a way to make a chemical or something that would start a process that could re-animate dead tissue in a coordinated manner, then maybe. But it's highly unlikely.

No. Dead things have (obviously) a lack of what we call life. And since man cannot create life, the possibility does not exist.
