It is true that the English settled here, but since her birth two hundred years ago, so have many other nations.
Americans are not white, black, red, green, purple.
The only color Americans have is RED, WHITE, AND BLUE.
These are the colors that unite all nations on this soil, and we really need start acting like it.
Oh, and by the way, many white Americans died to free the slaves, create the declaration of independence, and the constitution.
So get over the color thing people, lets get real.
This is about the security, and power of our nation to with stand the corruption of time.

The thing that upsets most Americans is that people from around the world that spoke 100's of different languages adapted to the USA when they arrived here and learned to speak the Majority language. The face that many Latinos do not want to learn English and that courts have forced use of Spanish in many areas does not negate that fact. If you check the law states a person must speak and write English in order to be a citizen although some people have broke that law and became citizens without basic ability to use English.

We were settled and colonized by many but the English had the greatest influence over the first 200 years, not to mention that th elanguage that is still most comonly spoken is english (for a little while) hence we are a little english if only in tongue

I would like to know how you developed the power to know what everyone in the world believes. This is truly remarkable! It is also, sad to report, not true. I, for one, do not think everyone in the U.S. is English. Someone as perceptive as you should have said, "Why does everyone in the world, except that one old guy on Maui, believe Americans are English?

Because the don't want to be American's, they want to fracture out country into factions and divide us with language. This isn't your grandparent's immigration through Ellis Island. This is outright colonization for another country.

I agree with the guy above. Most people have no knowledge of American History. We are a very diverse nation. I do not agree with illegal immigration but welcome anyone who comes to America by legal means.

because the national language is english. just like how people think since dominican republic, cuba, guatamala, all speak spanish, they all call them mexicans. but we know that they are not mexicans. they just have the same language.
