I would suggest that you get a card for her and co-sign it. Set the credit limit to $200 and see how responsible she is.
A huge part of your credit score relates to credit history. By starting her out early, by the time she is 21 and ready to buy a car she will have hopefully established a 5 year credit history.

It's not a question of legality. You just need to make sure you comply with the terms and conditions of your credit card account. Call your credit card company and see if you can add your daughter as an authorized user on your account. If they allow you to do this, they will send you a credit card with her name embossed on it.
Realize though, that if you do this, your daughter will have complete access to your entire credit line. For many people, this is several thousand dollars. You may want to ask yourself if it is really neccessary for your daughter to have instant access to this much money at all times.
Some other solutions you may want to consider:
- Open up a checking account in your daughter's name and get an ATM card with the VISA/MasterCard logo on in. She can deposit the money that she wants to spend (or you can deposit it for her, if you want).
- Add her as an authorized user on your credit card, but keep the card locked up (realize, though, that she can call the credit card company and report her card 'lost' and get a new one mailed to any address she wants)
- Purchase a Visa Buxx card. It's a prepaid cash card with the Visa logo on it. It can be used anywhere Visa is accepted (except rental car companies). You load it with as much cash as you want her to have access to, and can reload it instantly (online or via telephone) whenever you want. Here's a website with more info: http://www.visabuxx.com/

Not completely sure, but from the merchants I've worked with, as long as you don't dispute the charge, most businessess will allow her to use it. You may even be able to get one (same account) with her name embossed.
...btw...you don't have a 16 year-old daughter, do you?

I'm pretty sure you can if she is an authorized user on your account. Each company is different, so your best bet is to call your cc customer service.
