Theory only : We are at an age now that we know we are not inside out mother maybe we didn think how we had to breathe while inside our mother's. It is a form of rebellion. We want to get our own way. It is pointless because most of the time we had to finally gasp for air, or pass out. Either way as long as our parents never go upset about it and said go ahead and do it. It became pointless. The body or flesh does not want to die and breathing is one of the very if not the very essence of life.

Since you asked this in the Genealogy category. We are doing this because we want to search for our ancestors. It is interesting to know where our surnames originated from. Those of us who are not Native Americans came from other countries. So, don't hold your breath too long because you will be with some of your ancestors.

It is pointless to try and hold your breath till you die as your subconcious will kick in and save you. Your wasting valuable drinking time

For areal purpose! To entertain your mind, and seek our own selves as we discover what we agree upon and or desagree with. It is the quest of life to seek understanding and to boldly go where hardly none has gone before.

Me personally sometimes i need ANSWERS to questions so i ask questions and get ANSWERS and then i ANSWER questions. So it's nothing to die over.
