I too am an artist who asked the same question. The best thing to do is check out a site called wetcanvas.com There you can look at successful way others sell their work. There are some great people there willing to help so take a look! It's a big site with about 4000 members lots of diferent catagories to scope out. I'm sure you will find the best advice there for you. I did!

Go to local caffes or restaurant not really recomended people buy your work as they see you.
Go to local art fairs or further if you have the money, they usually don't charge to much.
Join Local artist societies
Go to businesses and friends and tell them to buy or rent your work for display.
But remember good work sells itself
and your image sells work too
also art reps help a lot
good luck

Put them in art shows. Find art dealers. Get a permit at some park to put up a few for sale. Go to a fair and rent a booth in a trade building and display your works for sale.
You can do it online, but you have to be careful that your art is not copy-able.

Learn to spell "sell" and then find yourself an art broker or gallery willing to display your items for sale.
You may even try art supply stores; sometimes they house paintings and try to sell them to their customers.
