Probably because it is easier to go after someone you might be physically attracted to, rather than taking the time to get to know someones personality.
I think guys tend to think the drop dead gorgeous ones are like a prize or trophy, especially if they're with their guy friends. I agree with you.. I'm married now, but I was always one of the "nice" attractive girls.. never the one who seemed to turn heads.
I guess for guys, it's "simpler" to go for a girl that isn't too intellectually stimulating because in a bar/club environment.. that would be too much like work for them!

I have always been prejudiced against them. So many of them learned at about age six that if they smiled, men will climb over each other to get to her. That kind of stunts their growth. If men will do anything for you, why bother to develop a personality? And there is the intimidation factor. I have had some success when I asked one, "Do you mind if I ask you a personal question?" "Does it ever get in your way, being that pretty?" Frequently they will admit that other women expect them to be stuck up, and occasionally men will do goofy stuff trying to impress her. It's an ice-breaker. I also recall some prominent feminist saying that she was walking down the street one day when she was about 35, and she noticed that men were no longer looking at her "that way" any more. That was like falling off a horse and not being able to get back up again.

They think they have a better chance of gettin' laid, that's why. Really hot girls can either be extremely smart and tell the guy to get lost, or they can be total airheads and give it up. So I say just continue to be who you are and approach THE GUYS, instead of waitin for them to come to you. Guys like that anyway.

not all men are like that. some of us know that most hot women are bitches. I personally look for a good smile and that is what i go after. Not all men are shallow and pig-headed. There are good guys out there. One will come your way before too long.
